It is with great pride that the Executive Board of Local 784 announces the creation of the Theatrical Wardrobe Union Local 784 Training Fund. Capitalizing on a similar fund recently established at Local 16, Local 784 hopes to add a ½% Training Fund benefit contribution to all contracts.
One of the first steps required to establish this fund is the selection of trustees. The Local is looking for two volunteers from the membership to serve as trustees on the union side (we will also be looking for two trustees from the employer side). The initial responsibilities will include establishing the goals and parameters of the Fund. If you’re interested in how we can use education to create new jobs, strengthen the ones we have or to build solidarity then this would be the ideal position for you. If you have been a teacher in our Apprentice Program your experience would be invaluable. Likewise, if you would just like to be part of this exciting new venture your enthusiasm will be most appreciated.
